Starvation ice??

Anybody happen to drive over the bridge at Starvation lately and notice if there is ice or soft water?

Hoping for ice for a possible new years trip!

My wife drove past this morning and said there was ice beginning to form, but still mostly open water for now.

Thanks for the update. Maybe it will form up enough in the next 2 weeks! I cant wait to pull a few starvation steelies onto the deck!

Just checked it and yes there is ice just beginning to form in the protected bays. You can see thin ice forming in the bay northwest of the bridge in this photo.

I checked Indian Bay which receives a lot of wind from the west and there was only shoreline ice.

Thanks for the picture and report.

Three of us are going to give it a go on Wednesday in our tubes. That kind of information really helps before we make the 60 mile drive up there.

I'm sure it won't be fast fishing but our soft water options are almost gone and we are not ready to give up yet.[:/]
