I fished north of cemetery point in 43 feet of water today. We caught 30 Crappie ranging from 8 to 11 inches. Perch fishing was slow for me. All fish were caught within a foot or so of the bottom. Perch were a little bigger than in previous years but I didn't catch any toads. Crappy bite started about 8 AM and went to 9:30 AM. At times we were catching them as fast as we could drop our lures.
Ice was about six or 7 inches where I was but you could see areas that looked sketchy. I also fished by the docks on the west side and caught one Crappie and a couple larger perch.
I took my time filleting our catch today. Three hours later I have a ton of tasty morsels ready for the fryer!

My boy and I were out there this afternoon and it looks like the early ice bite is great. We also got into some big slabs and had a great time. It's crazy, I don't remember catching any Crappie over 9 inches last ice season. They still bite as soft as last year though, spring bobbers did the job. Great pictures, cool how you can see marks on the flasher in your pic.

Were you near the x to the right of the cemetery point writing on this map or north of the actual tip of cemetery point? Where did you see the questionable ice? I am planning on going Friday. I really appreciate the info!!!!

I was North of the parking lot/restrooms on Cemetary point. The bad ice is pretty easy to locate. It is the big dark wet area the the West of where I was fishing.
