Fishing in Boise
#1
Hi Everyone.

I have said many times I might be moving somewhere, well now, It has been confirmed that I am moving to Boise, Idaho at the end of February.

I am curious, where are some places in Boise where I can go fishing, and what kinds of fish are down there with or without a boat? I have been looking at a map, and all I see is the snake river. What kind of fish are in the snake river, anyway?

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Jnicholes,

The question that you asked requires a very long answer to cover it properly.

The fish game transports steelhead and salmon to the Boise River at times so you get the chance of catching a large fish within the city limits. There are two or three trout species in the Boise River also. The Snake River is a longer drive and has numerous species of trout and a couple of bass species. The ponds around Boise have trout, bass and some panfish species.

There are several resources that detail the fishing in and around Boise with the Idaho Fish and Game being a good place to start. You can probably Google your way to success for more detailed info too.

I hope this quick outline is better than nothing...
