The bear river has had perch in it for years and years. 25 year ago we used to catch perch at the north beach boat launch pier and near the pump station. I would say that the perch then came from mud lake or bear river. And I would guess that they are still coming from there.
The perch were large for perch.
15 inchers.
I also heard that there were perch in the marina when they emptied out the portion of the west utah marina for the marina work. So yes they are there. So I suppose they haveen't done that well or we just have'nt really tried to catch any of them. They can really overpopulate a reservoir or lake but hopefully the Mackinaw and cutthroat will keep them in check.
