I used the adapter today for the first time and it worked great. It is very well made and fit like a glove into my auger. I was using an old
Snap on 14.4 volt drill and it only lasted two holes. I think the reason being is because the battery has been used hard and hung up wet so I believe it will work a lot bettter with a new battery or an 18 volt drill.

Thanks for the good report. I've been looking forward to one of our members testing one out. It would be nice to know if my 18V Dewalt would last a little longer....somedays you have to drill quite a few holes to find the fish. Once again thanks.

You are welcome. I think an 18 volt would do better, and like I said mine has been used hard and I knew the battery was going south before I tried it. Back to Snap on for a new battery. I think I will buy two, one for a backup.

I was drilling with an 8 inch auger. The ice was about 5-6 inches thick and I was down at Rockport.

Thanks for the report, remember to update us when you try it our with a full charge. How fast did it drill the hole? What type of auger did you attach it to?

The adapter was installed on an 8 inch Bear auger with last years blades i.e. not the sharpest. The first hole was relatively fast and it died on the second hole due to my faulty battery.

Thanks for the report, I was definitely curious of this device!!! I would imagine with a newer battery, and a even more powerful drill, it should last a half dozen hole then!!!!

I think it would easly last 6 to 10 holes with sharp blades and an 18 volt drill. It was nice and quite too. Not like hearing someone start up their power auger to drill holes, to loud.

I will bring the adapter if you bring the drill, I just checked how much it would cost to buy a new battery on snapon.com. 91 dollars so I checked how much for a new 18 volt commercial grade 1/2 drive drill, 315 dollars so i will have to wait for a little while and just use mine to drill holes with. Does anyone have a ac converter that you could use your truck battery to provide a/c for a corded drill?

That looks like a good product to take on the ice with. Are you a distributer? Test it out with charging a drill battery and let us know how it works, or do you need a tester? Just kidding, looks like a good product though.

I do not know of a web site, i bought mine off of ebay for a very good price. just go under ice augers and you will see the adapter made by Rob C. I am sorry cannot spell his last name without butchering it. The adapter is very well made and a good purchase.

There is a place in Salt Lake that imports after market batteries for almost anything you can imagine. They are supposed to be better than most batteries that come with the original product, and much cheaper
Since snap-on tools, Dewalt and many others charge so much for the name and warranty, these imports are a pretty good deal.
PortaPower USA is the name of the place.
2757 So 300 West Ste. # D
Salt Lake City, UT 84115
They have a lot of batteries for sale on EBAY, but I think you can just go there and buy them.
Might be worth checking out.
