Utah Lake water temp
#1
At what water temp do the cats really get active? I have only fished for them in mid June .

Sixty degrees seems to be the trigger point. Mid-sixties really gets them going... carp, cats, and white bass. Cats are active all summer after the temps stay above 60 degrees.

I fished Lincoln this a.m. and the water temp was 62-63 degrees. The cats were very active. Many of the males are starting to show battle scars as they compete for nesting areas. Weekend cold spell might slow them a bit but now on into summer is the time when they are the most active.

At this moment, it is 68.7 degrees on the north shore. We are catching some but it isn't hot catching.
