I am a huge Rooster Tail spinner fan. Their only failing I think is that when you pull them down current through fast water the blades stop spinning. One mod that works great is to twist the blade. By varying the pitch you can keep it spinning in just about any water and retrieve speed. Caught a lot of nice river rock loving browns like that. Another mod that works well for kokes close to spawn is to tie on a very small treble trailing the main treble by about 1.5". Often they will "nip" at the feathered tail, I think to chase it off, but not fully committing as if feeding. Adding that little treble makes the difference between an afternoon of endlessly frustrating nibles or an incredible koke catch.
