This time of year they are everywhere. My favorite way to catch a lot of them is take a whole rotisserie chicken (you can eat most of the meat first) and tie it to a rope. Leave it in the water until 20-30 are attached to it and reel it in. If you are doing this on a dock, bring a net to catch the crawdads that drop off the chicken as you pull it from the water.
