Braved the heat last Friday afternoon to fish the Bear River. The good thing about fishing in the afternoon, there are No Mosquito's! Caught several smaller cats and one pretty good one. Had lots of help from a young, skinny pelican. Each time I brought a fish to the surface to net, the hungry bird would chase the fish around trying to eat them.
When I finally hooked the biggest one and was ready to net, the bird figured it had had enough of being being hungry and led a full out assault onto my fish. I had the head of the fish in my net and the bird was tugging on the tail.
I got the fish and fed the pelican the rest of my minnows. Had more fun watching and feeding the pelican than the fishing that day!
