Have been worn out for a long time. Its gotten to the point when I walk or stand around for short periods of time I feel constant pain. I had orthoscopic surgery on my left knee back in 2008. The right knee is my oldest injury dating back to the mid 70s. Went thru a few injections of different drugs that worked just enough to buy me time to the next series injections which is usually an annual treatment. After about 6yrs of that, I quit going in for injections. After biting my lip for a while, I had an appt yesterday with an orthopedic surgeon. Both knees are bone-on-bone on inboard side of knee joint with no joint separation giving a bow-legged effect & outboard sides had separation at joint indicating a good cushion. The outcome of my doctors appt is total knee replacement with both knees. The procedure going to be used is a less invasive procedure than the norm that has been used over the years. There are not too many surgeons up on this particular procedure which is called the Jiffy Knee replacement. Its still a full knee replacement and recovery is better and a high success rate. We have some doctors here in Utah that does this, none in southeast Idaho which a good friend in Idaho Falls just had both of his done with the original procedure, one from the N Logan area who also has a Brigham City clinic and does the surgery at BC Hospital. I'm scheduled to get both knees replaced 2 months apart in April & June. This wipes out a portion of my fishing season.
