After waiting for the nasty weather to move out of the county, and after finishing my work day[pirate], Kastmaster, his son, and I took his boat up to Deer Creek to test his new trolling motor and fish a little. Got on the water about 6:15PM. We started out at the island, and tried for some bass. They weren't biting but Kast's son scored a small walleye. We then were greeted by a torrential downpour that kept us hiding for cover for about 30 minutes. We then went out again and I picked up another eye. We were marking fair numbers of fish in about 15 ft. of water which we assumed were mostly eyes, northeast of the island. We had a couple more long line releases and then decided to troll some crankbaits in the flats north of the island. Good call. We trolled 2 poles and scored 6 more eyes and a porky rainbow on rapalas and a LMB imitation crankbait. Left at about 9:15 with a total of 8 eyes and a bow. The eyes weren't world beaters in size, up to 14 1/2 inches, but were fun. They were a little on the skinny side in regards to body condition. The trout was fat. A nice evening on the water.
