I notice everyone saying they'll only get another trip or two in at the Berry before ice on. Gas prices suck, so that is something to consider, but I will tell you this, the fishing from now until the ice is the best of the year. I've fished there 20-25 times this year so far, and will probably go 20 times between now and ice on - it's really that good. The fish move shallow and it's a blast casting to 3 feet of water to the big boys just aching to slam about anything minnow looking you throw in. Plus, once we hit late-October, the fishing only picks up as the day goes along, no slow spots after the morning, the cold water (38-45 degree) really puts the bite into them. Not preaching, just saying don't write off the Berry yet!
