Tube,
Here's how I mount my PiranahMax 20. The strap goes through the base mount of the unit and the piece of foam sheathing gives something for the strap to bite into for a real secure mount. Battery is in the pockey immediately behind unit and the transducer hangs down from the opening between the two pontoons at the back of the Fat Cat. I have it stuck into and taped to a short piece of pool noodle. Cables are controlled by inserting into the pocket with the battery. If you look closely you'll see one of your roadrunners with a small pink twistertail grub attached to the foam. This combination produced this nice fat rainbow for me today. Water was 35 degrees. I was nicely layered and very warm except for my toes.
