Well after givening it much thought on if I dared get my fat butt out on 4 Inches of Ice my friend and I decided to hit the ice at Huntington. The ice was indeed 4 inches maybe 5 at the most and boy did it make ya pucker. I don't think I will be able to go to the bathroom for at least a week.
We hit the ice at about 8:30 and we went to the first point past the damn, we was in 15-18 feet of water. The bite would come and go and when It did you could pull 3 up out of the ice if you connected on each hit. We were using white and Chartruse colored paddle bugs tips with chucks of minnows. We missed alot of hits and also has some that was not hooked well and would get off before they made it out of the hole.
It was neat being able to see the fish coming up and swimming around your hole.
We fished until around 11:30 and boy the ice was noisy. It is not for the faint of heart. You would have the cracks that go right through your hole or right under you and boy you would do a little puckering.
The wind was a little cold and at one point it picked up my chair and skid it all the way back to shore. I was not going to chase after it so it stayed there till we were done.
I took a small video with all of the cool sounds the ice was making I am not sure how to attach it. If someone would help I would appreciate it.
Here is a short video clip of the ice Music
