This new advertising link thingy
#7
I totally agree with the poor tact advertising in your post. However, as a whole, i'm yet to make a determination as to how much I like or dislike this tactic.

Ads can be annoying at times, however, the sponsers on this site are the guys that make things happen for us BFT'ers. Free joining, no monthly or annual dues, and pretty frequently I find ads that I find interesting and check it out. I've found some pretty neat products clicking on these ads. And make no mistake, that's exactly what these ads are for, to catch our eye and get us to spend our money. No one here is nieve, we all know that.

I feel the issue here is more so invading your personal post. That wasn't very tasteful at all. However, like mentioned previously, this is just a test.

We also understand there are going to be mixed emotions no matter if we implement this new ad technique or make things the way they were. There's always an equal share of individuals that like and dislike the changes. There's always the old schoolers that have been on the site a while, like me, that majority would like to keep things the way they are. You know, the old "if it ain't broke don't fix it" ideal. And then you've got the guys that like to change things up a bit. Niether way is wrong or right, that's why this is a test. BFT is just trying to find the bugs so they can work them out in the future.

Don't be discouraged, so far i'm not particularly excited about this new technique either, however, i'm willing to give it a try and see what needs to be fixed about it and what is OK. It might turn out to be a good thing once all the irritable aspects are addressed. Keep up the good input though, that's how we know what's acceptable and what's not. [cool]
