[cool][#0000ff]The kinky carp guy got it right. Chub minnow. I usually try to take two or three sizes. Strangely, on some days they want a whole large one...or small one. Yesterday I was getting "pop and drop" on whole minnows of any size so I tried the half minnows and BINGO.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Sometimes I use a whole minnow and if I do not get bit after while I will bring it in and "swiss cheese" it with the point of my knife. Poking holes in it not only deflates the sometimes pesky air bladder but lets more of that heavenly chub ambrosia leak into the water.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Just for the record, I have caught both my biggest and smallest channel cats this year on BIG chub minnows...over 6 inches. The biggest thus far was 9 pounds and the smallest was barely 12 inches. I somehow managed to hook the little tyke without him getting the whole minnow down. But, he was ambitious.[/#0000ff]
