Chinook,
We took the "Ladders" exit from highway 40, drove right down to the water, and launched the 14 foot boat. From there we could have paddled to the place we fished. We did use the gas motor, but went less than one minute. We used the electric motor on the way back and trolled, but didn't catch anything. I think anywhere in the water is good as long as its about 30 feet or more. We tipped the WHITE (Green didn't work on Saturday) tube jigs with a chunk of CHUB MEAT from Sportsmans Warehouse freezer. I like to cut it into chunks the night before, then put it all in a baggy then re-freeze it. Easy to use the next day fishing! Good luck!
