Sharpening auger blades?

Having worked in a metal foundry for years now I can tell you that almost all stainless steel has some carbon steal in it. Those steel knives made out of 440c are stainless but c stands for carbon. Without it stainless is too hard to put a edge on. Once gone the edge is too hard to put back on.
