I heard that. There is a winter fishery here, but I hate the cold too much to follow through. LOL, I guess i'm just a wuss. [cool] But, if I were as privelaged to live in SoCal like Steve, i'd fish every day and have Yellow Tail Sashimi every afternoon. [

I was considering chartering a boat in the ocean at one point in time. I worked on a head boat years ago when I was a teenager. I went as far as getting my Coast Guard 6 Pack license and it stoped there. One of my buddies from back in the day moved back and works for that same company, but skippers a boat of his own. He just finished his 100 ton masters and Captains Dicks put him in a 26 footer. I probably would venture to charter my boat if I lived closer to the coast. But When I got out of the military, instead of moving back to the coast, I ended up 2 hours away from it. [] But, with a sick father and a sick fathe in law, we had to meet in the middle, and the middle was far away from the coast.
As far as salt water, however, the water temp is what I watch. There are just a couple species you can get with out going too far out, but nothing really starts happening until the water temp hits about 65 to 68 degrees. That's when I hit the ocean. But like mentioned before, I don't hit the freshwater until the Gar start floating on the surface. [cool]
