Saturday, 03/03/07- Hit the water early (5:45 am). Cold morning! Anchored in 75 Feet of water, in the channel, near Hole 33. Chummed a ton. Wind started picking up, creating small whitecaps. Action slow, only four two pound stripers in the box. National Park Service makes an announcement on channel 16 to all mariners to seek shelter due to high wind warnings with gusts up to 40 mph. Anchor slips after a tsunami of a gust, and the boat begins to drift across the channel. Okay, its time to go! Hauled in the anchor, stowed all gear, and enjoyed a wet and wild ride back to the marina. Off the water at 10:30. What a great day!
