"Yep, that guy in the yellow boat was putting on a clinic. I couldn't tell if the guy in the pontoon was with him, or if they just met out on the water. I was impressed that the guy in the pontoon had such a small gas powered outboard. Ok Randy, how come you know so much?"

Because that guy in the yellow boat was ME! Right after you guys asked me "what I was chumming with?" and my reply was "That I took a leak over the side..." I started thinking that it might be you and was trying to remember what your new boat looked like! I pulled my cellphone out and almost called you to see if it was you but then I thought that would be really stupid if you were out mowing your lawn or something. My eyes are just bad enough without my driving glasses that all I could tell was that it was 3 guys in a good looking older boat!
I kept thinking that you knew what my boat looked like, but now that I think about it, I don't think you've ever seen my boat before yesterday! Also, I was wearing a hat and sunglasses, and if your eyes are as bad as mine, you wouldn't have recognized me either!
The guy in the pontoon that joined me was FlyFishingForLife (Ryan) and that was the first time I'd ever met him. He somehow recognized me from about 50 yards out and asked me if my name was Randy and if I was Jareds father in law. (Jared is my son in law). I said yes and invited him over and helped him get his skunk off! He ended up having his all time best day on the Berry!
That spot is one of about 2 dozen that I have marked on my GPS in that area and usually ice fishes well, but does not really fish very well in the summertime. I was passing over it on my way further south and noticed a couple of fish on the finder and ended up spending the whole morning there. I can't explain the phenomena, I was just having a really REALLY good day. My brother and cousin cancelled out at the last minute, so I was there all alone. It was my best all time day at the Berry, both in fish count and in fish size. I caught my all time biggest Cutthroat yesterday and brought him home for dinner and a few pictures as I had forgotten my camera. Here are a few of pics. It went 26 1/2 inches, 15 inch girth, 6 lbs. and was the 4th fish I caught of the morning. I left around 11:00 and I won't say how many I caught by myself yesterday morning, but I will say that it was a LOT more than my previous Strawberry fish count record, and that my wrist and arm are very sore today and I have a blister on the heel of my hand from setting the hook so many times! Out of all the fish I caught, not one was a Rainbow. I ended up only taking home the one big fish that I caught.
That is the first time this summer that hole has produced fish for me, and I've tried a LOT. I couldn't help noticing though that everyone was catching fish yesterday, so maybe the fish were just biting real good everywhere.
Now that I know what your boat looks like, I'll keep an eye out for you in the future and come over and hook up with you and share some fish stories!
I was using the same old standard jigging stuff that we use for ice fishing.
Good looking boat by the way!
