But then too, what is the use of conversation without a little voicing of opinions.

[black]Finely said Saberfish! Voicing opinions and counter arguments do not have to be negative conversation points. MY WHOLE POINT! Open discussion and debate is a great thing if done correctly so no one feels too negatively impacted! Being "impacted" by a conversation is a good thing! I have changed how I do things throughout the years because I have learned a lot of good information here where the message impacted me enough to try something new.[/black]

[black]Some of that information was brought up in threads that were only semi-related to the original topic of the thread. One topic leads to another and leads to another. What is wrong if a thread follows the same route that normal conversation does? New conversation points are stimulated which can fork in other directions. This is OK![/black]

[black]If the original post in the thread shows a guy's boat but the post is a report on a trip, is it bad to discuss boats? The picture has stimulated conversation. Maybe not the intended target but what does it matter?[/black]

[black]Old Coot, fine job of addressing this discussion. I appreciate your willingness to "guide" a discussion but not take it over. Let the conversation go where it might as long as it follows the basic rules of conduct. Just because you have the big stick does not require that you to use it. [/black]If your post was made in the other thread, that thread could and most likely would, still be open. Thank you!
