Paint removal from lures.

I know I am not the only one that is tired of buying jigheads that have paint in the little hole your line goes through. I wish the manufacturers would not paint that part. But they do. So I try to buy the ones that don't have the paint in them in the first place.

But If there is paint there, then what is the best method of removing it? Is there some king of tool? I usually try to use a hook from another lure or a thick safety pin, but then I also end up hooking myself half of the time.

There must be some stupidly simple solution to this problem. Somebody please enlighten me.
