Ive never tied a matuka but it looks fairly easy to me just looking at it..
I just think it would be easier to work on the wooly.. get use to the vise and tools etc.. and then go to the matuka since it loooks to have a few extra pieces to it... []
I know after that day with Scruffy Fly I felt a lot more comfortable with actually handling the vise and tools rather than thinking I knew what I was doing.. LOL..
for me anyway it was amazing how tangled my fingers got into things when I first tried to simply wrap the base layer of thread on the hook.. [laugh]
