night fishing for wallies at UT lake?
#3
[cool][#0000ff]Walleyes are spawning more than eating right now but you can catch some at night. Unfortunately a lot of the fish caught at night are foul hooked...especially the females.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I have never enjoyed being a part of the wild and crazy scene during the walleye spawn. A bunch of unfriendly folks standing shoulder to shoulder, casting into the dark. Tangles, snags, fights over hooked fish and lost fish. Hypothermia, leaks in waders, loss of sleep. And it is rare that anybody catches more than a fish or two.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I prefer to fish them when they are "on the chew" and when I have a legitimate chance of catching multiple fish...when I find the right spot and the right presentation...without having to compete with a hundred of my "best friends".[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Walleyes are nocturnal feeders by nature. But, when they are spawning they are not as concerned with feeding. During the summer they feed at night because the water temps are cooler and there is less boat traffic on the lake. In the post spawn and fall feeding periods you can catch them in the daytime...most of the day. Much more fisherman friendly.[/#0000ff]
