A couple of years ago, I went there with my dad and I always go the last week in april for the whole week. Bass were spawning and so were the crappie... They were on every bush in the water... we caught some nice 1 3/4 lb crappie... We were the only ones fishing for them.... We did good but only when they were spawning... The following year we went again on May 10th for the week and bass and crappie were over.... never found a crappie the whole week...... I would change your plans and spend mothers day the last week of april.... I think I am gonna be there again this year... 26 Apr.- 1 May
