[quote bassrods]Yes bigger and fatter as well and more of them....
Its funny how more food in a lake makes all the other fish grow...But then the bucket will only hole so much...[sly][

Cliffy.. How long have you been fishing Lake Powell? Did you just start yesterday or what? Have you not noticed that Lake Powell goes through huge boom and bust cycles that are almost entirely dependent on the survival of shad/prey fishes? Did you not notice that the past few years the habitat at lake powell has improved because the lake level has risen and flooded brush providing prey species and young-of-the year fish more habitat?
Cliff, you complain when people come on here and make fun of the comments you make and then you come on here and post things like the above quote. Cliff, if you really understood the biology of fish and the limitations a habitat placed on fish, you would never make comments like the one above.
The bucket--lake powell-- can only hold so many pounds of fish biomass. That is why the stripers go on these huge cycles where their population booms and busts...once they eat themselves out of house and home, they stunt and die and their numbers drop until the prey fishes rebound...at which time the predator numbers increase and the prey decreases until we have another crash. It is amazing that for someone who fishes a lot, you don't understand this simple concept...
