Nothing wrong with that. To put a battery and motor on shouldn't be much of a problem either, but looking at the picture, that rear deck is way back there. You would have to slide your frame/seat way up to the front of the toons to make it ride level.
Note is the picture, the seat is right in the middle, that would have to change with the addition of the 50 to 60 lb battery and the 15 to 20 lb of motor.
Check the welds close.
AND, PVC coated covers are worth their weight in gold compared to those nylon covers.
