If they put a fishing pier in away from the boat ramp nobody would use it because the fish are spawning where they were stocked, at the boat ramp. There's miles of shore for people to fish from but the fish are stacked up at the ramps so thats where people want to fish. If people want to stand shoulder to shoulder with 75 other people and cast to spawning fish more power to them. That type of "fishing" is not for me. I don't shoot penned raised Pheasants or I wouldn't shoot an elk on a high fenced ranch, but that's just me. Fortunently I know someone with a cabin on the lake so I can launch my boat in their backyard and don't have to deal with the fiasco at the ramps, so I can't comment on there being a safety issue or not.
