Never have seen one of those "dipsy divers" before. That's interesting. I wondered about a simple split shot. [

The other main factor I wonder about, is how long to let out the line? One person may suggest specifically "X number" of feet, but that is with their line counter or reels, etc. I question if all are equal or exact. (All I have at this point is a clip on plastic counter from Shakespeare. So far, they are working to have some level of continuity.)
So, what is the effective difference if the line is out 50 feet, 150 feet, or 200 feet - with a lure that is designed to go down to a certain depth?
