Green River fishing over the weekend on Saturday morning was good. Morning flow was at 6200 cfs and parts of the walkway above little hole were 2 feet under water but still accessable. Even with the higher flow fishing with a maribu jig was really good and I was able to catch 11 fish in 3.5 hours. I attached some pictures of the trail underwater. I have found that once you get a flow over 4600 cfs you start flooding the trails. I would guess once you get over 7500 cfs parts of the trail is not passable and you will need a boat.
They opened the turbines from the dam for the 3rd time this year. Typically they will open them up once a year but this year is an exception. The flow was taken to 8400 cfs by the evening and the Bureau of Reclamation are reporting an anticipated flow of 6600 cfs for 5-7 days. I found out that there is a spillway that can produce upwards of 25,000 cfs at full capacity that has only been used twice in the history of the dam and they are saying that there is potential of opening it for this year.
