I fished the A-section of the Green over Memorial Weekend at 4700 cfs, most of which I used a spinning rod. In terms of anglers, it was dead. It was really good fishing while casting rainbow trout colored jerk baits and I caught several nice browns the first 3/4ths of the 2-hour float. I used the fly rod rigged with an egg pattern for the later 1/4 of the trip and caught 3 additional rainbows. Higher flows haven't proved to be bad on the fishing. They dislodge a lot of invertebrates and disturb smaller fish from their nursery habitat. Just use patterns that match the conditions and you should do well- streamers and nymphs for fly fisherman and jigs or crank baits for spin fisherman. Like another poster said, the Flaming Gorge Resort can offer you reliable up-to-date flow and fishing reports too.
