Odd fish behavior

I have seen this many times. They have always been the really small ones. I think they are not sexually mature yet and not spawning. I believe they hang together in a group mentallity. My guess is they are still in the schools they were born into. I have seen them feeding on the really little midges etc... I have also seen bass crash the schools.

Just guesses but I have seen what your describing many times.

PS. I have also caught the little guys on small caddis.
