Nice report. I hooked "Walter" twice and I was sure I had the fish I was looking for. First time was Sunday about 5 am and all by myself. Trolling a big black leech with a minnow. I had caught maybe 1/2 dozen fish in the 3 or 4 pound range when I hooked a monster. I'm not sure how long I had him on but it seemed like forever. I thought I had won but at the last minute, when I was reaching for the net, he had one more run in him and he spit the hook. Dang! Dang! Dang! I was so happy but at the same time bummed that I couldn't get a picture with him. That fish was well over 10 and pushing 28-29". Got back to the cabin for some bacon and eggs and like I thought no one believed me. Tuff crowd I hang with. So I got kidded with the rest of the trip until the last morning. Took my buddy to the spot at 5 am to prove Walter was there. I went with a 4" tube jig this time in a color that was as close to sculpin as I had. After 30 minutes of trolling this very small area my buddy was ready to give up. I was like "shut up and put some more smelly jelly on your spinner". I just tried to keep him talking so I could keep fishing. Well 15 minutes later Walter found my tube. He hit that thing so hard I thought the pole was going to break. The reel was screaming, my buddy was screaming and I was too. Unfortunately, I was using one of his poles because he said I was fishing to light of gear for Henry's. This fight didn't last long. The third time Walter went airborne I just couldn't keep him on with that heavy pole. Dang! Dang! Dang! But my buddy got to see him and now he believes my fish story. So Walter still swims in Henry's for another day.
