Will you hike? Crater lake, up the Slate Creek drainage off of 75 between Stanley and Clayton has a lot of really nice goldens in it.. haven't been there this year but going soon. Last year hiked up there without the rod, and there were 12-16 inch trout in the shallows just teasing me, it was unreal. It's a brutal hike though, 4+ miles in on a steep grade mining road. Hiking only, it's not passable to horses, dirtbikes, atvs, etc. Maybe that's why there's so many big fish
