My friends and I were the crazy ones fishing Staley yesterday and today. Believe it or not we were fishing on 5 1/2 inches of ice. Last year we were fishing there at Staley on over 18 inches of ice and there was still open water at the beginning of Staley. Fishing was good both days even though we got soaked today as well. Biggest fish were in the 3 to 4 pound range. Landed 39 yesterday and 30 today. Good mix of hybrids and brookies.[/quote]

Think its unclear. Last year the ice stopped just past the buoy line. Open water back in the cove but if you get 20 feet past the buoys where its deeper the ice was atleast 18 inches thick the one time I fished it.
