Hmm.... Another fishing theory I don't understand. What's the point in making a handle that's 18"+ long, that probably doesn't balance where the rod should? If you wanted to use more of the lower section, wouldn't having a smaller handle do this? Then again, the rod wouldn't balance with the reel when lined.
Secondly, I don't like the open slot at the top of the handle. I can see me tangling line time and time again on that thing. It would get annoying.
Not to say it's heavier, but it definitely looks heavier with their click in real system. Most rods I have, the reel seats nearly weigh nothing!
They claim this rod is more sensitive? I'm not sure how you can take the same blank, one with this handle, the other with a typical cork handle. I don't see how having moment in that handle, is going to feel better and more sensitive then being 1:1 with the rod! If you want more sensitivity, you'll want to go the other direction and get a handle that's more dense (solid) then cork! A composite model handle would come to my mind is saying it... It would be solid (solid being the kicker as cork is pretty solid in itself) against the rod blank, but not only that, it would be lighter! Again, you're comparing with cork, not much weight there.
