We can use that logic, somewhat. So when you go to cast that flask & straw (if you could), which one would you say will cast the best... Hitting 10 & 2 without drift. Nice, good thrust back & stop... good thrust forward & stop... The straw that's independent in the flask is going to drift, creating a "weaker" cast. Then the flask with the taped straw having a good solid cast.

Having a fish on will feel less sensitive as you've now added a shock absorber to the handle. Better?
