If it was me I might turn right after stepping off the ramp at Painted Rock and either wander out by the island or fish below the cliff along the east side if I didn't want to take a mile or two stroll north. I'd fish in areas of 20'ish feet deep and close to the bottom using a jig and minnow or alike. Altho as I recall I may have caught small pike using a perch jig and wacky rigged crawler to it. But what ta heck do I know
