That's a keen observation that causes a lot of head slapping, Jay.
Fish with eyes on the top of their head tend to look and feed up ESPECIALLY if they also have protruding lower jaws. The combination is almost a cinch to be on an upward-feeding fish. Walleye, bass, and crappie all share these traits.
