[#0000FF]I know of several tubers who have tried retrofitting their tubes with oarlocks and oars. I have never felt the inclination. I have not even used the oars on pontoons I have owned or used.
Oar power might be handy during extreme wind conditions but to me they are just added weight and bother. I use fins for most powering and for holding position for hands-free fishing. And I do now have an electric motor for auxiliary power.
Your questions again fall into the "what if" category. Once you get on the water with your tube I think you will quickly see that adding oars will cause more problems than they might solve. But if you absolutely have to have oars you might consider getting a pontoon.
