UPDATED: SEASON OPENER.
Ladies and Gentlemen!!!! IT"S TIME!!!!!
WE ARE LIVE!!!!!!
By the time most of you read this there will be people on the water just above they train bridge on the Clearwater River. The numbers over Bonneville Dam are strong and is leaving every one hopeful that they might bump the limit on the Clearwater to two fish a day.
I stopped in to Camp Cabin and Home today to shoot the pucky and re-up on some gear. Slammed is a good word to describe the store right now. It's awesome to see fishermen hitting the stores this time of year. In my opinion "Its the Fishermens black friday." ( Minus the Pushing, shoving and fist fights, which is ussually saved for the river banks later on in the season. the Little Salmon and the Ellis Hole near Challis scare me......)
There is not a bunch of fish over Lower Granite yet. Yesterday I talked to a guide who had been fishing in WA the last two weeks. He said there is a big group of fish bellow The Dalles and they have been pounding them slow trolling. I'm not expecting but maybe a few fish to be landed this week but next week and the week after it should pick up rather nicely. I'm sure I'll be on the river a couple times this week just because....... Well..... it is opening week. I will keep the forum posted if anything intresting happens.
