"This is genius! Why wouldn't the boat bumpers be a remedy for seat "taco"? It is positioned to far forward as it is, because of its intended design. But centered under the seat? How large of bumpers are those? How much floatation do you suppose two bumpers of that size provides......20lbs? Is the PVC filled with spray foam, or would that not add any floatation to the closed PVC?"
[#0000FF]The float are mainly intended to add floatation to counter the weight of the batteries and motor...a combined weight of about 85 pounds. Not sure what the actual displacement factor is.
The floatation pack is under the front (back) of the tube and not under the seat. So it provides no aid to the dreaded taco effect...which I have never had.
There are several sizes of boat bumpers available. I use the 5" X 22" but your Fish Cat would probably take the 5" X 18".
No foam in the PVC pieces.
