The first set of planer boards I bought were Church boards, they didn't handle rough water worth a darn and would dive etc. even with adjusting the ballast weight so I went to the Off Shore brand. I use the tattle tail flag with them but I don't think they would indicate a small Koke hit unless the water was fairly calm. If you hook the Off Shore brand up correctly you shouldn't have a board come off your line, the front clip has a post in it that the line should be placed behind to prevent this from happening.
