John-- Well said and I agree. We probably need to keep our contest consistent with Utah regs. That said, I would really like to see more of Karl's kats or any other catches from near by states. I'd be in favor of an "honorable mention" section for cats caught out of state or out of dedicated NS region.
Oh, and by the way, (I know, picky, picky, picky) it is illegal to snag carp in Utah. If by "foul snagging" you mean 'foul hooked'?-- well, it happens. If you mean intentionally going after carp with a big treble.... that's a no, no. Makes sense, huh?[

"You may not take or land a fish by snagging or gaffing,..." No exception noted for carp.??
