+1000 So if these fish are so hungry feeding up for the winter, then why aren't people fishing the other almost 100 miles of the lake??? Close it down during the spawn!! It's apparent some so called (fisherman) love to take advantage of vulnerable fish!!! the Last time this shi# happened I helped put an end to it on another lake here in Utah, and it was for the same species of fish at the same time of year!!........ In the past lake trout were considered the biggest threat to the kokanne in the gorge, and since the kokes became popular the dwr started planting a lot more kokes to make up for the difference in the balance of the predator to prey ratio. And also the boom in the anglers liking of a fish that fights as hard as kokanne do. So you can't blame the macs for eating all the kokanee anymore. ( this was a big reason for a lot of people targeting Lakers at the gorge during the 80's-90's so on) unless the Dwr can give us folks a reason for not wanting to want to give these fish a long life and be able to hand something down to our next few generatins then why not put a end to this massacre??????
