Provo River Delta Now Open
#1
The DWR news site has a great new article on the completion of the Provo River Delta Project...with lots of background info and helpful maps.  A lot of us were skeptical that it would ever get done...or that it would be an actual improvement.  Of course, it remains to be seen what it does to annual spawning activities of all species.

I also heard the DWR has opened flaming Gorge. It has changed the Mac pups limit open to catch and kill. You can dispose of pups in the garbage. Or kill and drop into the lake.

Couldn't find anything on the DWR site to confirm that.  They may have a formal announcement to make on it soon.  Maybe?  It would be a good idea, but since most folks don't fish for the pups it would take some promotion and education to get more people deliberately targeting them.  Good fun and good eats if you can find a concentration of active pups.

The new Flaming Gorge Lake Trout regulations allowing unlimited possession of Lake Trout under 28" is only a proposal at the current time.  I don't know that it has been approved yet and suspect it will become effective in 2025.  Another proposed change for Flaming Gorge will be to reduce the Utah possession limit of kokanee to 1 days catch.  You can listen to all of the proposed Flaming Gorge changes at this link starting at 5:29 into the video through 11:36.

Approved and taking effect on Jan 1st in Utah.  Wyoming will change their regulations sooner. Looks like Oct 1st in Wyoming.
