As many of us know TubeDude is writting a book. If you have followed the board closely you have read parts of it. If you ask questions he is very good to share other parts with you. Everything is well written and easy to follow until it is time to do it. Living in Utah I have had the chance to meet and learn firsthand from Pat.
Watching TubeDude filet a catfish is much more informative then reading and looking at pictures. I put that knowledge to work last night fileting some perch. First cut great. Turn the knife and down the side I went. Still looking like a pro. Hit the tail flipped the filet over and back down nothing but meat. No mess, no fuss, no cleaning fish. Beautifull nice little perch filets. Everything good exept for the bones are still in. No problem there are instructions on the board. Cleaned up my hands and down to the computer I went. Read the great advice and looked at the pictures thought no problem. Murdered those poor filets trying to get those stupid bones out. Decided to make more of them into bait then originally planned.
Pat your writting and pics are great but a how to video would pass along so much more.

Maybe we can get him to do a Fillet class for us, that are a little challenged with the knife. A fiend of mine odes everything like a catfish and just uses a pair of pliers and pulls the skins off and says it works well.

See if he had the video he wouldn't need the pliers anymore as you filet the skin off at the same time. Your left with two filets and everything else still attached together to go in the trash. Head, tail, skin, insides still attached all together and easy to chuck.

TubeDude or TubeDad as I call him, taught me the same skills. I passed those skills on to my son and he is a Deckhand on a good Sporty.
Most of the coast was amazed with his faster way of filleting that they hadn't seen before.
When he was asked how he learned to fillet so fast, his simple reply was "The skill was handed down from my Grandpa". Go figure.[cool]

[#0000ff]The disclaimer I make to all who read it is that it was "severely edited" by a non-angler before it went to publication. I did not have a chance to see the "butchered" editing job before print, so there are many places where my "style" and "unique" phraseologies were sacrificed to some pedantic editor's elitist chopping process. [#0000ff]I do plan to do a major rewrite on that book, adding lots more good fishing information and adding grundles of new recipes. And, like my tubing book (to come), I will be doing a CD version that I can peddle for less money and still make the information available to "the masses".[/#0000ff]

I'm sorry but since I sliced off two knuckles and cut another finger gutting a deer I'm not allowed to play with sharp objects.[unsure] I knew we should have followed you and TubeBabe home from the lake. Next time we head that way we will have to let you know.
Hope to come visit this spring when Out4aFloat tries to set up his new fishfinder on his tube. I have already told him a trip to your house will save us hours of reinventing the wheel. Between the setups I've seen and your pics on the board last week his ice setup worked pretty good Tuesday.

[cool][#0000ff]Sure, feel free to bring your tube by whenever you are ready to get it set up for sonar. After rigging a whole bunch of them, I can usually git 'er done pretty quick and easy. I remember how many different things I worked through before I finally came up with my current system. Wish I would have had somebody's garage to visit.[/#0000ff]
