That sucks that you could not get them. What were you using? How were the edges in the afternoon? I am planning on heading there this saturday hopefully the fishing is better.

Thanks for the info last year the edges got really scary when we were leaving the ice.I noticed a lot of the fish there last year would be about 5 feet under the ice. Maybe thats why they were not biting.

I fell through the ice my first winter here i know how that feels! [pirate] Never again i want that to happen. I hope the edges stay hard at OC in the afternoon there this saturday. Have you fished the NW side i had good fishing there. I fished the point and the fish would come around frequently. We ended up catching our limits.

This time of year the water levels in reservoirs like Piute, Otter Creek, and Minersville are rising quite fast. This leaves the shoreline with wet, slushy ice. Warm afternoons make things worse.

Try to get out on safe ice in shallow areas -- that way if you go in, you don't go very far in!

Thanks for the advice i will keep that in mind this saturday. I dont venture out to far anyway because the fish are usually shallowthis time of year.

take a plank, I've been a victim of the OC warming near the edges, luckily one leg got soaked and the other hit dry land so I could haul out like an elephant seal onto the shore[mad]
