I decided to head to Chesterfield this morning after Wingnut36 said they were catching fish. It took me a little longer to get there with the bad roads this morning so I was a lot later than I wanted to be. I got there just before 11:00 am.
A big thanks to Wingnut36 for posting what he was catching them on. My wife called me just as I was rigging poles and said try something small and pink. I had no sooner got it to the bottom when I caught my first Chesterfield trout! I am not sure the name of the lure but it was small pink with a white belly ( I call them ice flys but not sure of their real name ) I put a small piece of nightcrawler on it also.
I caught 6 fish total, with two keepers and missed a few bites, all in about an hour and a half. It seemed to be pretty fast, not much time between hits.
I was fishing next to a group that was doing pretty well also, they had caught one really nice fish, just using worms. One of them had a pole get pulled down the hole, but they used their underwater camera and another rod and got it back plus the fish! I thought that was pretty cool.
It was a good day, wish I could have stayed longer but started to worry about the roads going home. I wish I wouldn't have waited so long to finally fish Chesterfield but now I know I will be back.
